There are two methods of binding which are :
First method of binding
With open edge feed in the binding tape on the left side and then fold on the right side. Then discrete the both open edges and slide from both up and down side edges under these little tabs on the left side of jaws. That is how it must look with fabric from top and bottom separated which are held by little plastic guides.
Regulate or maintain the bottom wheel until the guide moves over snugly to the folded edge of binding and this binding should place softly between the left and right edges and without crumpling. Now expose up the jaws with your fingers and slide in the fabric to be bound. Now push the edges right upto the fold of binding. Now just slip the foot and bind up to the initiation of the edges to be bound. Now you are all set for stitching.
2nd method of binding (whole sandwich method)
This method is most easy one but also depends on your preference. In this method instead of first loading the binding and then fabric after. I pinned the binding to the fabric and load it into foot all in one go. And move the guide over to the right so u can easily open up the jaw. Now when you are going to initiate pin or clip the binding with a gap of 3 to 4 inches between your pins, where you want to sew as it is ready to stich.
Now glide the foot in a place around whole sandwich means between those pins and edges of binding in the guides on the left. Ensure the forefront side and back side are lying in the glide properly and smoothly. And now turn out the under side wheel to move the right hand guide snugly up against the folof the binding. Now its all ready to sew. Then start removin pins, firstly remove the top side pin, slide the foot back where you want to start sewing you are all set. As u start to sew remove the lower side pins. And this method is less fiddly by loading the whole sandwich at once.
How to use a binding foot?
There are 6 steps to use a binding foot.
Keep the binding through the guides in the presser foot.
You should use pins or clips to guide the binding in case if it gets stuck.
Make adjustment of width of the guide by turning the dial until it gets same as binding width.
Put the fabric through the gaps between the guides, line the edge of fabric up with the centre fold of binding.
Now its time to attach binding foot to the sewing machine.
Now regulate the needle position to close to the edge of binding.
Start stitching and make sure the fabric edges stays at the fold of binding.
